CD Sunday - Best of British

Over on CD Sunday this week Caz has chosen her theme as Best of British, I do hope you can come over and join in as this is Caz's fist time choosing a theme so it would be great if we could get plenty of support for her.

I have been suffering with back problems this week and haven't been able to sit and craft but not wanting to let everyone down by not joining in I have decided to use Craft Artist as my cd element and have done a scrapbook page from the Jubilee celebrations, I did three pages at the time as I thought it would be something to keep as a reminder. I will try to get them sorted this week and add them in for you to see, they are still in CA format not Jpegs at the moment.

I am also entering this into the allsorts challenge of red, white and blue.

These are the other two pages I made at the same time as the one at the top, I wouldn't have gone to London as I think all those people would have been too overpowering but I spent all day watching on tv and unusually for me wanted to capture some of the feeling of the day, hope you like them.

CD Sunday - Seaside Treasures

It's a busy week over on CD Sunday this week, we have a new team member and a new guest as well as our newest challenge so do pop over and have a little look.

This week the theme is seaside treasures and for me there was only on cd that came to mind although there are quite a few I could have used. I chose to use the Faye Whittaker cd from Joanna Sheen, I copied the image I wanted and pasted it into Craft Artist, from there I added some things from digi kits and found the bunting but had to recolour it using the colour dropper as it was yellow and blue to begin with. I didn't have the right colour for my mat so once again using the dropper I made a plain square to match. I saved a little ink by making the inside of the square white as it wouldn't be seen.

I hope you can come and join us and enjoy looking at the designs from the rest of the team, it would be nice if you could nip over and welcome our newest team member too.

CD Sunday - Sketch

Good morning and welcome to another Sunday which of course means another challenge from CD Sunday, it is my turn this week to choose the theme and I've chosen to use a very simple sketch.  My card is following the sketch to the letter but as you know you can use the elements and make something totally different as they are just guides really.

I needed to make a card for someone who is leaving our office after two years so this is an 8x8 to allow plenty of room to sign it.  I used Joanna Sheen's Eastern Treasures cd and found it a lovely change as I don't use it very often.

I do hope you'll come over and join us, the rest of the team have come up with some fabulous work.

CD Sunday - Delicious Damask

Over on CD Sunday this week our challenge is Delicious Damask, I have chosen to use a digi image from Saturated Canary  coloured with both Copics and Promarkers, the backing paper has come from the Artylicious cd decadent brocade.

I am sorry to be so late posting this but I've been away for the weekend getting wet in the Lake District, our company had two teams taking part in the 24 peaks in 24 hours challenge. The weather was awful but they managed it and up to date have raised over £7000 for charity, I am now totally shattered but glad to have been a part of it.

I do hope you can come over to our challenge and join in with us, I think it's a lovely challenge this week.

Anything goes with Saturated Canary

Here's another card made with the digi's I bought from Saturated Canary, I've loved colouring them in and thought that with the weather we've been having this image was perfect, one of my workmates has a birthday tomorrow so I think she'll be getting this one.

I am entering this into the challenge this week over on the Saturated Canary challenge blog. I once again used copics, Tria markers and Promarkers to colour her and the paper is yet another sheet from the stack of Basic Grey that I have. i have used the same paper to make the flowers, the ribbon and pearls are coloured with the same pen as the dress and boots.

Pan Pastels - Fathers Day/ Boys

At last I've managed to get a card done in time to join in with the Pan Pastels challenge, I have only recently bought some pastels and I am slowly learning how to use them.

This week the theme is Fathers Day or boys, now as my lovely dad is no longer with us I decided to do something to suit any guy, up to now I have avoided using the flags and bunting and all the red, white and blue but have given in and gone with the union flag background and then I have used an old bus stamp which I have coloured with the pan pastels and Promarkers.  The photo makes it look brighter than it is but you get the idea and I've used some card candy to finish off.

As there are lots of challenges at the moment with the masuline theme I have chosen to enter this into the following as well;

The Stampman /Make it for a Man
Creative Craft Challenges - A Patriotic Colour Challenge
ATC's and Cards with Attitude - Anything goes/ Fathers Day

CD Sunday - Beautiful Ballerinas

This week over at CD Sunday the theme is Beautiful Ballerinas, this card is made with an image from the Dreams of Tranquility cd from Ooh La La, I put it together in Craft Artist because I was having trouble with my printer and needed to get it finished.

The team have made a varied set of cards this week so please pop over and have a look, it may persuade you to join us, the full team have joined in this week so plenty of choice and I'm sure you'll find something to inspire you.

Saturated Canary - Anything Goes

I've just found the challenge blog from Saturated Canary and from there found the site where I could get the digi's so as it's my first time using these images I thought I'd join in.

This little lady is called Honey and she is one of the ones I bought, there are also a couple of freebies so I've had play with those too but I'll save them for another post.

The paper is from Basic Grey and I've had it quite a while but couldn't bring myself to use it but have now had a word with myself and I'm starting to use all these lovely papers and other things that we tend to hoard. I've coloured the image with a mixture of Copics, Tria markers and Promarkers, the flowers are from the die set Bitty Blossoms and the douiley is from Marianne Designs, I haven't added a sentiment yet as I'm not sure who it's for yet.

CD Sunday - Gorgeous green

Over on CD Sunday this week Wendy P has chosen Gorgeous Green as her topic, I decided to use this sage green background from the Artylicious CD  - Decadent Brocade. I have sprayed it with the spray and sparkle glitter, added a green ribbon and bow, and a few green and white pearls.
The topper is a digi stamp from Mo's digital pencil, she is called Christmas Fairy Holly. I have coloured her with Promarkers and decided against adding any glitter to her, instead I added the glitter around the the outside of the sentiment.

I hope you can come over and join us as we have a couple of new faces this week and we'd love you to meet them.

The Great Outdoors

Over on Happy Scrappers the theme this month is The Great Outdoors and as I have been playing with Craft Artist recently and sorting out some of the hundreds of photo's that we take and then just hang on to, I thought I'd enter with my squirrel layout which is an 8x8.  We had a day out at a local National Trust property and the squirrels were quite happy with everyone around, this one stayed still long enough to get quite a few pictures.

Pan pastels - 1st time use

I have just treated myself to some Pan pastels so I could see what all the fuss was about, I did wonder if I really needed anything else but just had to give in and have a go.  This is my first attempt at using them and have to say they are just as good as everyone has said.

The background is done with Hansa Yellow Shade and Permanent Red Shade, the die cuts are pink but coloured with the pastels. I had these cut out and thought I'd try to colour them and see if they go anything like the colour I wanted. The stamp I've used is one I bought from Caroline when I was at Port Sunlight, it is one of a duo of cosmos. I have added deco beads in the middle of the flower for a bit of interest, I may see if I can colour them with a promarker as I would rather they were black.

CD Sunday - Old MacDonald had a Farm

This is my card for our challenge over on CD Sunday, the theme this week is Old MacDonald had a Farm. I chose to use a lamb as my farm animal and this comes from the Plush Pals DVD by Ella's Designs.
I do hope you can come over and join us and give the team a bit of support.

CD Sunday Challenge - Easy Elegance

Good morning all, it's Sunday and time for another challenge over on CD Sunday, this week it's Easy Elegance so I chose to use my Debbi Moore Venetian Collection. I wanted something bright as a contrast to the greys of the topper and backing paper so decided on this striking turquoise, I embossed the top piece with a folder from Papermania. I recently bought the bitty blossoms dies so used a bit of the backing paper to make the flowers, although they do look a different colour once they are rolled up, the leaves are a Marianne die.

I hope you can come and join us and don't forget we are looking for a new team member so if you fancy joining us then pop over and send us an email.

Rainbow Lady - Let's get Inky

Over on Rainbow Lady this week the challenge is to get inky, I have used Tea Dye distress ink for my background this was direct to the card, I then stamped the images in Vintage Photo,
my topper is done in Versafine and inked then sprayed with mica spray.

I do hope you can come and join us.

My new Lavinia stamp

I went over to the Port Sunlight stamp show yesterday and one of my purchases was this beautiful stamp from Lavinia, I have loved this stamp for quite a while but wasn't sure I'd get a lot of use out of it but yesterday I gave in and bought it. This is a six inch card so you can see how large the stamp is but when I need something quick she will be perfect. The BP is from a pad from Crafty Individuals.

CD Sunday - Reflections

Good morning all from a beautiful sunny Wigan, it's so good to see blue skies and sunshine and I just hope it last throughout the day.

Onto this weeks challenge over on CD Sunday and we have chosen reflections for you all to work with, for my card I have made and easel card with a little used cd from Cupcake Crafting called Cotton Ball Capers, now I think they have redesigned this cd and it comes under a different name now but it is full of bunny images with them all doing various things.
My bunnies are playing at dressing up and using mums mirror to see what they look like.

The format of the cd gives the basics for easel cards so it's really easy to make sure everything matches. I only had white pearls so I coloured them with my trusty promarkers in pink so that toned in better.

We are also having a DT call so if you fancy joining us pop over and let us know, you will have to own a few cd's of course.

Rainbow Lady Challenge - 'AGE'

Over on Rainbow Lady this week the challenge is a sponsored one and as we are being sponsored by Pinflair then you will understand where the the idea for the challenge came from.  You could choose pyramage, decoupage or any 'age' you can think of and that gives you plenty of scope.

For my card I stamped the same image several times and cut them out with my nesties to give a reducing image.  I stamped the background of the card with another La Blanche stamp and used distress inks to colour it all. It is good to get time to play with ink as it does make a change from cd crafting and gives such a different look.

I do hope you can come and join us.

CD Sunday - Trees and Shrubs

Over on CD Sunday this week we want you to use Trees and shrubs as your inspiration. When we first chose this theme I was thinking I didn't have anything to use and then my brain kicked in and of course there are so many things with trees and shrubs on them that I was spoilt for choice.

I have used a cd from Joanna Sheen that I have had for an age and barely touched so had a look throught it and thouoght this image was a perfect choice.  I do hope you can come and join us, we love to see what our ideas inspire you to do.

Rainbow Lady's Challenge - Memories

Over on Rainbow Lady this week  Cynthia has chosen Memories as the challenge theme so I have used a couple of old photo's of my mum's brother and made a scrapbook page in Craft Artist.

I have coloured everything to match the tone of the photo's and have taken elements from several different kits.

I hope you can come over and join us.

CD Sunday - Chocolate, cream and one other

Good morning all, it's another week for the CD Sunday challenge and this week is a colour one, Christine has chosen chocolate, cream and one other colour of our choice. For my other colour I have used pink, my cd element is the backing paper from Decadent brocade by Artylicious, I like this cd and use the papers quite a lot.
I have used some distress ink to add a bit of colour to the paper as it wasn't quite creamy enough, the borders are from one of my latest purchases and this one is the persian accents, I really liked this border so have now ordered the motifs to go with it.  The teddy is from a set of stamps a friend bought at the QVC outlet shop, there are four sheets of fairly small teddy designs and they were on offer at £1.99, now that's what I call a bargain!

The bow is done with another of my recent purchases the mini bowdabra and this is the first successful one, I have had this ribbon for ages and really like it so as you all know we don't like to give these things away but as I bought a roll of it I thought I could spare a bit here, the rose is from wild Orchid.

I hope you can come and join us and check out the other team members blogs, they have some great stuff.

On the Street where you live - Rainbow Lady Challenge 202

Hi folks, I'm here again with another scrapbook page, this time it's my contribution to the challenge over on Rainbow Lady this week which is 'On the Street where you Live', I have taken this literally and done apage with my OH and my dog. All this is done in Craft Artist.

I do hope you can come and join us and show us what the title inspires you to do. We love to come and visit and the DT have done some amazing samples.

Sunday, 22 April 2012

Good morning all, over on CD Sunday this week our challenge is Sweets for My Sweet as chosen by Carol. I have used the Fashion Boutique cd from Joanna Sheen and this image is one of a set of four, I think it would be good to make up a set of notelets using one of each of the images.

The card is a 6x6 and I have used a bit of green mirri as my matt, I decided not to cover the whole of the card with the backing paper and set the piture a little higer than normal and off to the left, the flowers in the corners are some I got so long ago I don't know where they came from and I have added a small pearl in the middle. A fairly simple card this week but it's another one for the box,.

i hope you can come over and join us, you know we love to see you.

Rainbow Lady- Patriotic/St George

Over on Rainbow Lady this week we are going all patriotic as it's St Georges day next week, so the topic is Patriotic, St George/British so plenty to choose from. I have used the Faye Whittaker cd to create my entry, I have also used craft Artist to add the shaped sentiment box and the embellishments.

There was a huge entry last week so we hope you can do the same this week. It's a lovely topic and I'm sure you'll be able to find something in your stash to be able to join us.

CD Sunday - Ring a Roses

Good morning all, this week on CD Sunday the theme is Ring a Roses. Well with a topic like this I was spoilt for choice but as I have recently purchased the Shoes in bloom cd from Ooh La La decided that I would use it for this weeks card. I was going through the images and spotted the backing paper and that it what decided me on this idea. I knew I had some dark red silk mirri somewhere so just had to dig it out, it is almost the same colour as the printed page turn so I think it works quite well. The bits of bling I bought from The Range and I think they may be Papermania, I stamped and embossed the sentiment and then finished it all off with a white ribbon.

I hope you can come and join us this week, we did enjoy looking at your Toybox Treasures last week.

Celebrate with a touch of vintage - Rainbow Lady's challenge

Hello here I am again late posting my contribution for the challenge over on Rainbow Lady, this week is Cynthia's 200th challenge so we are celebrating and we want you to join in with us. 200 is a great number so to add a bit more interest we want you to add a touch of vintage, for my take on the celebration I have chosen the street party scene from the Faye Whittaker cd by Joanna Sheen, there are some lovely images on this cd and quite a few would have worked but this is such an evocative scene that I couldn't resist.

So not only is it Cynthia's anniversay but she has a wonderful sponsor and prizes so come on over and join us.

CD Sunday - Toybox Treasures

Good morning and a very Happy Easter to you, this is my card for the challenge on
this week. We have chosen 'Toybox Treasures' as our theme and I have used a cute cuddly elephant to represent all the cuddly toys that children get. This is from a dvd called Plush Pals from Ella's Design, there are some lovely animals on it and one of the favourites is the sheep but I'll save that for another day.  I have used a gold holographic card which I think is probably a bit too blingy for my taste but some folks love it so it can go in the box for a later date.

We still have our guest Colleen and she has made us a super card from MCS so do pop over and see what the whole team have done and hopefully you can join in with us. See you there. x

Wedding Wishes

Just thought I'd share a wedding card I've made, not a very good picture but it is late at night. The butterfly paper is from the Ooh La La cd Shoes in Bloom 2, the corners on the white are stamped and embossed with silver pearl embossing powder. Hope you like it.

Rainbow Lady - Happy Easter

Over on Rainbow Lady this week we are wishing you a Happy Easter and hope you can join in with something Easter themed.

For my contribution I have used Joanna Sheen's JNM 11 and this image is from cd2 the small animals chapter.  I have used Craft Artist to make my design, I quite like the stitching and the ability to colour the bows to match the shades in the backing paper. Hope you like it!

CD Sunday - All Sewn Up

Good Sunday morning to you all, up at the crack of dawn again why can't I sleep in at the weekend? Not to worry I can get a bit of crafting done while the rest of the house is asleep.

This week over on CD Sunday we have a fab theme of All Sewn Up, this has come about because we have a wonderful sponsor in Debs from Debbees cd's and she has given us some files from the very pretty cd Stitchin Tails, the team have had a bit of fun using these images.

I have used a backing paper that has little cross stitching on it, it's a lovely colour and it's on the cd. I have used a purple coloured backing paper for my mats and split it into three for a slightly different look, although the card looks square it isn't but I did cut it down from an 8 inch card so it's probably about 7 x7.5. The reason I cut it down was I didn't want the scalloped edge..

I hope you can come over and join in with us and you never know you could win a cd of your choice from Debs and she has some pretty good stuff over on her site.

Rainbow Lady's Challenge - butterflies

This week over at Rainbow Lady the challenge is Butterflies and as it's being sponsored by our very own Caroline then there will be a prize on offer too.  Caroline has supplied us with some digi images to work with and I have to admit that I did go in and change the colour because the ones she gave me didn't go with the card I needed to make but that is the beauty of digi images they can be anything you want them to be.

The backing paper and the image is from RHS cd from Joanna Sheen, I must admit it's not one of my most used cd's but when I found this set I had to use it and have done so more than once, I think it's so pretty and butterflies are the perfect accompaniment.

I have seen the DT samples and they are all stunning so I do hope you can come and join us, it's great to see you.

Sunday, 25 March 2012

Hello everyone from a beautiful sunny Wigan, I have been up since the crack of dawn and only just remembered that I didn't schedule my post for CD Sunday this week.

Anyway our theme this week is Spring has Sprung and this was chosen by Jocelyn, you must go and check out the DT ideas there are some great things this week.

For my card I decided to use an idea I had for my craft class, this week I was showing them how to use around the page punches so decided to incorporate my DT card, I have used an image and matching backing paper from JNM 11 by Joanna Sheen, I think of spring when I see yellow as the daffodil is usually the one thing that finally persuades us winter is over and spring is here.

I hope you can come and join us and let us share your ideas for spring.

Rianbow Lady challenge - House and Home

Over on Rainbow Lady's challenge blog this week we have a lovely challenge called house and home.

For my contribution I have used one of the Polkadoodles cd's, this is designed as a shaped card but I have only used the front of the shaped bit and popped it onto a straight back leaving me room to add a sentiment. The front once printed has a tab at the side for joining the pieces together so I put this piece under the pink backing paper. The flowers, door , roof and tree are all layered to give it a bit of interest.

I hope you like it and can come over and join us, I'm sure you will come up with some wonderful ideas just like the rest of the team.

CD Sunday - Spots and Dots

Good morning it's a beautiful bright morning here in Wigan and it's lovely to see the blue sky only trouble is the sun shines into our bedroom so we are wide awake at silly o'clock but it does make a lovely change from the dull damp weather we've had recently.

Over on CD Sunday this week the challenge is to use spots and dots, my spots are on the cat and the dots are on the background and on the piece of green card down the side that I put through the swiss dots embossing folder. The wooden tiles were given to me and have been in a draw for ages so I thought I would get them out and put them to some use.

CD Sunday - From Me to You

good morning to you all and as it's another Sunday it's time for our latest challenge on CD Sunday and this week Christine has chosen From Me to You so plenty of scope for everyone.

I have chosen to use the Faye whittaker cd from Joanna Sheen for my card, there are some gorgeous images on this cd and I was spoilt for choice but settled on this one and the backing paper I have used several times because it seems to go with so many other things.  I embossed the lines one the plain card to give it a bit of interest and added a few gems to the areas where the lines cross.

I hope you will come over and join us and we will enjoy looking at the things you create, so till the next time bye for now.

Rainbow Lady challenge - Brown, cream and red

Over on Rainbow Lady this week our challenge is brown, cream and red, now at first I didn't have a clue and then I remembered that after last weeks challenge one of the entries was a dog from this set and once I'd found them I just had to have them.  My card is an 8inch square and although it looks wonky it is straight, just the angle of the camera.  I have used red mirri card and brown matt card for the layers and the message is stamped in brown pigment ink but not embossed.

I do hope you can mange to join us and share a bit of colour, looking forward to visiting you over the week.

CD Sunday - Imagine

This week over on CD Sunday we want you to use your imagination as the title of our challenge is taken from the title of the cd we have on offer.

This week we are being sponsored by Elegant Inspiration and they have given us a copy of their newest cd to offer as a prize. I have used two of the images to make my card and I do have to appologise for the poor picture but the light was bad yesterday and this was the best I could do. My card is is a dl and when it's folded down will fit into a dl envelope making it fine for posting, I have made quite a few easel cards but a friend made a dl one and I thought how good it looked so decided to have a go, so thanks Judy and I hope you don't mind me using your idea.

Hope you can come and join us and maybe as the saying goes it could be you who wins the cd.

St David's Day - Rainbow Lady

It's St David's Day today so this is the challenge over on Rainbow Lady this week. I have used a picture of some daffs bobbing in the breeze and a photo of a squirrel both taken on the same day at Dumham Massey which is a beautiful National Trust property.
I do hope you can join us and show us something Welsh to help celebrate the day.

Thursday, 23 February 2012

Believe it or not today is dog biscuit appreciation day so with this in mind Cynthia has given us the theme of dogs, thank goodness it wasn't the biscuits!

For my page I have used CA and a piture of my boy, Pooka. He is 13 now and still bounces around like a young dog and one of his favourite places is the beach so this is what inspired the page.

I do hope you can join us at Rainbow Lady this week and have a bit of fun, I guess you could add a biscuit of two into what you do if you like.

CD Sunday Challenge - Wings and Legs

This week over on CD Sunday the chosen theme is Wings and Legs, well as I am on the design team for a fairly new company called Elegant Inspiration and this week they have launched a new cd called Imagine I thought what would be better than showcasing the cd in my contribution.

The cd is lovely with some pretty images on it and the book I have chosen to show you is one each of the images on the cd, so there are plenty of wings and legs in selection this week.  sorry for the naff pictures but took them just before sending the samples off for the launch of the cd which was on Create and Craft yesterday and it was a very popular choice, if you like the look of the cd but can't afford to buy it at the moment then keep a lookout on the challenge blog in the next few weeks.

Rainbow Lady - Mardi Gras

Over on Rainbow Lady this week we want you to use the theme Mardi Gras as your guide to doing something incredible. For my contribution I have used Craft Artist and done a page with a kit I bought from Digital Crea.
I'm sorry to be at least 8 hours late posting but I keep forgetting to schedule my post in time and then end up having to do it in the evening.

CD Sunday L is for..................

.Over on CD Sunday this week we have decided that we'll use a letter this week, as it's so close to Valentine's day Wendy chose the letter L. For my card I've chosen to use Faye whittaker's cd from Joanna Sheen and my L is for London.
I hope you can come over and join us and I think you're going to like the design teams cards there are some pretty ones this week.

Rainbow Lady's Challenge - Have a Heart

Over on Rainbow Lady's challenge blog this week the theme is Have a Heart, for my entry I have used a photo from a wedding I went to a couple of years ago and never got around to doing anything with them. The scrapbook page is made in Craft artist and everything is coloured using the backing paper to take the colours from.  The backing paper is one I got from Chocolate Baroque, Glenda was selling what she called a Stash-e-Lope and there was some lovey stash in it.

I do hope you can come on over and join us, there are some lovely samples from the design team. I am a bit late posting this as I usually do my posts in the morning but these days don't have the time but forgot to do this one last night.

CD Sunday - A La Mode

Good morning everyone and yes it's Sunday so we have a new challenge over on CD Sunday, this week it's A La Mode but because we are being sponsored the team have all used an image from the newset cd Shoes in Bloom 2.

The prize this week is any cd from the range at Ooh La La and they have a pretty good range so well worth a look and also entering to see if you could be the winner. We choose the winner by a random draw but also have a top three chosen by one of the DT.

My card is an 8 inch square, no surprises there then, the image and backing papers are printed onto 160 gsm text and graphics paper and mounted onto lilac backing sheets. A few gems, flower and a bit of my precious lace and it's done. I hope you like it.
