Hunkydory kit makes

I bought the latest kit from Hunkydory which is unusual for me as I don't do kits normally but I thought that I could get ahead with some things and as everything is die cut I could whip up a lot of cards in a very short time and leave my holiday week for having a play with some paints and stuff.
This is a small selection of the ones I have done over the weekend.

CD Sunday - Game On

Over on CD Sunday this week the topic chosen by Jocelyn is Game On, I have used an image from the new Moorheads people cd and taken it into Craft Artist to build my card. I think we are all so aware of the price of postage that to be able to build something digitally that looks 3D is a great help, we can then print out straight onto card and it still looks good, great for when you're in a hurry.  This image is so cute and I had a bit of a play and used the comic book style again, I like the way it looks like a pencil drawing and not quite so perfect as the normal printed image.

I hope you can join us and if you can visit the teams blogs you will get a better idea of how they made their cards.

I'm also entering this into the challenge over on Hiding in My Craft Room they have had the great idea of sharing a challenge so that's what I'm doing, what a fun thing to do.

An Irish Blessing

I made this page in CAP using one of the new butterfly kits. I started with the bunch of flowers which I played about with to get the look I wanted, I then added some butterflies and a background. I wasn't sure what I really wanted and I had the verse at the top on the right hand side which looked ok but I couldn't get it to look right.

I googled for an image of a unicorn and found this one, I tried it in several different positions but finally decided to reduce the transparancy and enlarge it so having to move the verse but I am quite pleased with the final result.  I am still learning about CAP and it's a great feeling when something looks more or less as you would image it too, it's usually the other way around and things end up looking a total mess!

CD Sunday - Cute Christmas with Elegant Inspiration

Hello all, it's Sunday again and another challenge over on CD Sunday. This week we have been given a cd from Elegant Inspiration to give away so an extra bonus if you join in with us and end up being the winner of the top three.

For my card I have used a cute bear image carrying presents, I have used some frames cut out on the Cricut and then put through an embossing folder for a bit of detail.
I do hope you can come over anf join us and maybe ti could be you who has yet another cd to add to your growing collection, another bonus is that if you have a cutting machine then there are lots of files that can be brought into your machines software to give you a whole library of shapes and ideas.

CD Sunday - Exotic birds and blooms

Hello all it's Sunday again so that means only one thing, time for our latest challenge at
CD Sunday. This week Christine has chosen the theme Exotic Birds and Blooms, I have used the Eastern Treasures cd from Joanna Sheen to make my card, there are lots of lovely images on this cd so I was spoilt for choice.
This is an A5 card as the image is quite large, I also printed some flowers and cut them out to put along the bottom on top of some ribbon and the gems I bought from QVC.

I do hope you'll come over and join us and see what the rest of the team have made for your inspiration.

Moorheads and House mouse

I've been enjoying playing with my new cd's, this little fella has already gone to his new home and was greatly admired.
This card is made up from one of the shaped cards on the cd but I chose t pop her onto a card rather than make a shaped card with her.
I've also been playing with the House Mouse cd and this is one of my favourite images on it.
I needed a new baby card so chose to use this image, not a wonderful photo as the light was wrong but you get the idea.

Moorheads cd

I recently bought the new Moorheads cd so had to have a bit of a play, there are some really cute images on this cd and I think they will go down well as I work with a lot of ladies who go in for cute and cuddly.
This is a lovely image and is so easy to cut out, a quite simple card but hopefully someone will like it.
This is another one that is an easy and simple card, this printed out onto one sheet of paper so no need to go searching for matching backing papers.
Another decoupage card, the flowers are cut from the backing paper with small heart shaped gems in the centres.

I'll be back tomorrow with a couple more and a couple of house mouse cards too.

CD Sunday - Bingo

Good morning, it's Sunday so that means another challenge over at CD Sunday, this week Sue chose the theme of Bingo.
I have to admit that I've never used a bingo card to make a choice for crafting but have had a go, I recently bought the new House Mouse cd and project book so decided to use that for my challenge card.

I know quite a few people who are into sewing so thought this would be an ideal card to make, the card is an A5 landscape and my line was sentiment, ribbon and pearls. It is funny but at first I couldn't decide what I was going to do as everything I thought of and started to put together had something from a different line in it so in the end I chose the line and worked from that.

This is the bingo card that Sue came up with and I am glad she put the sentiment choice in the center as most cards have some sort of sentiment on them.

I hope you like this idea and will pop over and join in, we have a new guest today so come on over and say hello.

CD Sunday - Mainly Men

Over on CD Sunday this week Wendy has chosen the theme Mainly Men, I don't know about you but I do struggle with cards for men so when Daisytrail introduced the cd's with a steampunk theme I bought one to try. I will end up getting them all but am starting small, which is so unlike me.

The one I bouhgt is Steampunk Adventures, I just thought it would be a bit different to play with and this is what I came up with, I love the way thing evolve when playing with CAP, I hadn't intented to have the happy birthday around the bottom layer but I kinda liked it so it stayed.  The faux stitching is one of the brushes in the kit as is the pattern on the top layer.  I took the images into the photo part and used the comic book button to see what it did and liked the result so kept that too.

I hope you'll join us and after having a look at the fab teams designs go off and make us something to help us with our inspiration as our followers are simply the best.

CD Sunday - A is for ......................

Good morning and welcome to another sunny Sunday, this week over on CD Sunday we have a brand new challenge of A is for...... my choice is A is for Arriving.

I have been asked for a new home card for someone who has split from her husband and is setting up home on her own so I thought this image was perfect, it is taken from the Docrafts cd Tulip and Friends, the only problem I have with this cd is that it prints quite pale so I have used some Epsom Matt photo paper and printed on high quality to get a decent image.
This is only three layers but works qujite well so hope she likes it.

I hope you can come over and join us and visit the rest of the teams blogs as there are some lovely cards this week.

Ready Teddy Go - Up Up and Away

Over at Ready-Teddy-Go the challenge this week is Up Up and Away, the main image on the card must have a teddy on it and something that flies or floats up. I have chosen to use my Me to You cd and have added two teddies.

I have used a pale pink card to layer onto but it looks a little bright in this picture, I haven't used this cd much so need to get to know the way the programme works but it's a useful tool.

CD Sunday - Pearls and Swirls

Another Sunday and another challenge, over on CD Sunday we are challenging you to use some pearls and swirls.

For my card I have used the Debbie moore Shabby Chic cd that came free with a magazine, it's not the whole cd that you'd buy but it does give a good flavour of the full version and I am thinking that it's on my wish list now.

Please come and join us we love to see you.

CD Sunday - Best of British

Over on CD Sunday this week Caz has chosen her theme as Best of British, I do hope you can come over and join in as this is Caz's fist time choosing a theme so it would be great if we could get plenty of support for her.

I have been suffering with back problems this week and haven't been able to sit and craft but not wanting to let everyone down by not joining in I have decided to use Craft Artist as my cd element and have done a scrapbook page from the Jubilee celebrations, I did three pages at the time as I thought it would be something to keep as a reminder. I will try to get them sorted this week and add them in for you to see, they are still in CA format not Jpegs at the moment.

I am also entering this into the allsorts challenge of red, white and blue.

These are the other two pages I made at the same time as the one at the top, I wouldn't have gone to London as I think all those people would have been too overpowering but I spent all day watching on tv and unusually for me wanted to capture some of the feeling of the day, hope you like them.

CD Sunday - Seaside Treasures

It's a busy week over on CD Sunday this week, we have a new team member and a new guest as well as our newest challenge so do pop over and have a little look.

This week the theme is seaside treasures and for me there was only on cd that came to mind although there are quite a few I could have used. I chose to use the Faye Whittaker cd from Joanna Sheen, I copied the image I wanted and pasted it into Craft Artist, from there I added some things from digi kits and found the bunting but had to recolour it using the colour dropper as it was yellow and blue to begin with. I didn't have the right colour for my mat so once again using the dropper I made a plain square to match. I saved a little ink by making the inside of the square white as it wouldn't be seen.

I hope you can come and join us and enjoy looking at the designs from the rest of the team, it would be nice if you could nip over and welcome our newest team member too.

CD Sunday - Sketch

Good morning and welcome to another Sunday which of course means another challenge from CD Sunday, it is my turn this week to choose the theme and I've chosen to use a very simple sketch.  My card is following the sketch to the letter but as you know you can use the elements and make something totally different as they are just guides really.

I needed to make a card for someone who is leaving our office after two years so this is an 8x8 to allow plenty of room to sign it.  I used Joanna Sheen's Eastern Treasures cd and found it a lovely change as I don't use it very often.

I do hope you'll come over and join us, the rest of the team have come up with some fabulous work.

CD Sunday - Delicious Damask

Over on CD Sunday this week our challenge is Delicious Damask, I have chosen to use a digi image from Saturated Canary  coloured with both Copics and Promarkers, the backing paper has come from the Artylicious cd decadent brocade.

I am sorry to be so late posting this but I've been away for the weekend getting wet in the Lake District, our company had two teams taking part in the 24 peaks in 24 hours challenge. The weather was awful but they managed it and up to date have raised over £7000 for charity, I am now totally shattered but glad to have been a part of it.

I do hope you can come over to our challenge and join in with us, I think it's a lovely challenge this week.

Anything goes with Saturated Canary

Here's another card made with the digi's I bought from Saturated Canary, I've loved colouring them in and thought that with the weather we've been having this image was perfect, one of my workmates has a birthday tomorrow so I think she'll be getting this one.

I am entering this into the challenge this week over on the Saturated Canary challenge blog. I once again used copics, Tria markers and Promarkers to colour her and the paper is yet another sheet from the stack of Basic Grey that I have. i have used the same paper to make the flowers, the ribbon and pearls are coloured with the same pen as the dress and boots.

Pan Pastels - Fathers Day/ Boys

At last I've managed to get a card done in time to join in with the Pan Pastels challenge, I have only recently bought some pastels and I am slowly learning how to use them.

This week the theme is Fathers Day or boys, now as my lovely dad is no longer with us I decided to do something to suit any guy, up to now I have avoided using the flags and bunting and all the red, white and blue but have given in and gone with the union flag background and then I have used an old bus stamp which I have coloured with the pan pastels and Promarkers.  The photo makes it look brighter than it is but you get the idea and I've used some card candy to finish off.

As there are lots of challenges at the moment with the masuline theme I have chosen to enter this into the following as well;

The Stampman /Make it for a Man
Creative Craft Challenges - A Patriotic Colour Challenge
ATC's and Cards with Attitude - Anything goes/ Fathers Day

CD Sunday - Beautiful Ballerinas

This week over at CD Sunday the theme is Beautiful Ballerinas, this card is made with an image from the Dreams of Tranquility cd from Ooh La La, I put it together in Craft Artist because I was having trouble with my printer and needed to get it finished.

The team have made a varied set of cards this week so please pop over and have a look, it may persuade you to join us, the full team have joined in this week so plenty of choice and I'm sure you'll find something to inspire you.

Saturated Canary - Anything Goes

I've just found the challenge blog from Saturated Canary and from there found the site where I could get the digi's so as it's my first time using these images I thought I'd join in.

This little lady is called Honey and she is one of the ones I bought, there are also a couple of freebies so I've had play with those too but I'll save them for another post.

The paper is from Basic Grey and I've had it quite a while but couldn't bring myself to use it but have now had a word with myself and I'm starting to use all these lovely papers and other things that we tend to hoard. I've coloured the image with a mixture of Copics, Tria markers and Promarkers, the flowers are from the die set Bitty Blossoms and the douiley is from Marianne Designs, I haven't added a sentiment yet as I'm not sure who it's for yet.

CD Sunday - Gorgeous green

Over on CD Sunday this week Wendy P has chosen Gorgeous Green as her topic, I decided to use this sage green background from the Artylicious CD  - Decadent Brocade. I have sprayed it with the spray and sparkle glitter, added a green ribbon and bow, and a few green and white pearls.
The topper is a digi stamp from Mo's digital pencil, she is called Christmas Fairy Holly. I have coloured her with Promarkers and decided against adding any glitter to her, instead I added the glitter around the the outside of the sentiment.

I hope you can come over and join us as we have a couple of new faces this week and we'd love you to meet them.

The Great Outdoors

Over on Happy Scrappers the theme this month is The Great Outdoors and as I have been playing with Craft Artist recently and sorting out some of the hundreds of photo's that we take and then just hang on to, I thought I'd enter with my squirrel layout which is an 8x8.  We had a day out at a local National Trust property and the squirrels were quite happy with everyone around, this one stayed still long enough to get quite a few pictures.

Pan pastels - 1st time use

I have just treated myself to some Pan pastels so I could see what all the fuss was about, I did wonder if I really needed anything else but just had to give in and have a go.  This is my first attempt at using them and have to say they are just as good as everyone has said.

The background is done with Hansa Yellow Shade and Permanent Red Shade, the die cuts are pink but coloured with the pastels. I had these cut out and thought I'd try to colour them and see if they go anything like the colour I wanted. The stamp I've used is one I bought from Caroline when I was at Port Sunlight, it is one of a duo of cosmos. I have added deco beads in the middle of the flower for a bit of interest, I may see if I can colour them with a promarker as I would rather they were black.

CD Sunday - Old MacDonald had a Farm

This is my card for our challenge over on CD Sunday, the theme this week is Old MacDonald had a Farm. I chose to use a lamb as my farm animal and this comes from the Plush Pals DVD by Ella's Designs.
I do hope you can come over and join us and give the team a bit of support.

CD Sunday Challenge - Easy Elegance

Good morning all, it's Sunday and time for another challenge over on CD Sunday, this week it's Easy Elegance so I chose to use my Debbi Moore Venetian Collection. I wanted something bright as a contrast to the greys of the topper and backing paper so decided on this striking turquoise, I embossed the top piece with a folder from Papermania. I recently bought the bitty blossoms dies so used a bit of the backing paper to make the flowers, although they do look a different colour once they are rolled up, the leaves are a Marianne die.

I hope you can come and join us and don't forget we are looking for a new team member so if you fancy joining us then pop over and send us an email.

Rainbow Lady - Let's get Inky

Over on Rainbow Lady this week the challenge is to get inky, I have used Tea Dye distress ink for my background this was direct to the card, I then stamped the images in Vintage Photo,
my topper is done in Versafine and inked then sprayed with mica spray.

I do hope you can come and join us.

My new Lavinia stamp

I went over to the Port Sunlight stamp show yesterday and one of my purchases was this beautiful stamp from Lavinia, I have loved this stamp for quite a while but wasn't sure I'd get a lot of use out of it but yesterday I gave in and bought it. This is a six inch card so you can see how large the stamp is but when I need something quick she will be perfect. The BP is from a pad from Crafty Individuals.

CD Sunday - Reflections

Good morning all from a beautiful sunny Wigan, it's so good to see blue skies and sunshine and I just hope it last throughout the day.

Onto this weeks challenge over on CD Sunday and we have chosen reflections for you all to work with, for my card I have made and easel card with a little used cd from Cupcake Crafting called Cotton Ball Capers, now I think they have redesigned this cd and it comes under a different name now but it is full of bunny images with them all doing various things.
My bunnies are playing at dressing up and using mums mirror to see what they look like.

The format of the cd gives the basics for easel cards so it's really easy to make sure everything matches. I only had white pearls so I coloured them with my trusty promarkers in pink so that toned in better.

We are also having a DT call so if you fancy joining us pop over and let us know, you will have to own a few cd's of course.

Rainbow Lady Challenge - 'AGE'

Over on Rainbow Lady this week the challenge is a sponsored one and as we are being sponsored by Pinflair then you will understand where the the idea for the challenge came from.  You could choose pyramage, decoupage or any 'age' you can think of and that gives you plenty of scope.

For my card I stamped the same image several times and cut them out with my nesties to give a reducing image.  I stamped the background of the card with another La Blanche stamp and used distress inks to colour it all. It is good to get time to play with ink as it does make a change from cd crafting and gives such a different look.

I do hope you can come and join us.

CD Sunday - Trees and Shrubs

Over on CD Sunday this week we want you to use Trees and shrubs as your inspiration. When we first chose this theme I was thinking I didn't have anything to use and then my brain kicked in and of course there are so many things with trees and shrubs on them that I was spoilt for choice.

I have used a cd from Joanna Sheen that I have had for an age and barely touched so had a look throught it and thouoght this image was a perfect choice.  I do hope you can come and join us, we love to see what our ideas inspire you to do.
