Christmas Cracker - Bah! Humbug! challenge

Over on Bah! Humbug! this week the challenge is Christmas Crackers, now I'm not sure if this is the kind of cracker they were thinking of but it's the only one I had. The image is off an old Joanna Sheen cd called Holywood, it's not one I use too often but it does come in handy on occasion.  Just off to post this on the challenge link and see what they make of my entry this week, lol.

Thistle

Over on Rainbow Lady's challenge blog this week she's gone all nostalgic for Scotland, it's Burns night next week and as she lives high up top in the Highlands she has every right.
I thought I'd join her and this is my offering, the thistles are coloured with the ever present Pro-markers and the edges have been distressed with weathered wood ink.  I cut the tags on the Cricut and the top one again has had the weathered wood ink over it, the words are a stamp  that came in a grab bag from Sweet Pea stamps a while ago.

Cupcake Sample

Here is a sample I made for the newest Cupcake cd, I took the backing paper into MCS and added the white flourishes and the greeting, the two top layer were punched with another Martha Stewart punch and the topper was layered with foam pads to keep the layers even. I finished it off with a couple of die cut corners cut on the cuttlebug.

CD Sunday - Sketch

Good morning everyone, hope your weekend is going well. I have a little something to share with you today that I've done for the challenge over on CD Sunday which this week is a sketch.  Now I know some people love sketch's and some people don't, I like to be challenged and this sketch was a bit of a challenge for me, in fact this is the second card I did as the first one wasn't good and ended up in the bin!
For this card I printed two papers off the Artylicious cd Damask Delights on to pearlised paper, this I matted onto silver mirri, the circle is a die from Marianne and the strip was punched using a Martha Stewart punch which didn't really like the vellum but I just about managed. The mirri mat behind the image had been put through the cuttlebug just for a bit of texture and the image which is a new stamp for me from Elusive Images is stamped with Perfect Medium and dusted with mica powders, finally I used distress inks around the edges and added the pearls at the top.

I am entering this into
2 Sisters challenge which this week is flowers
Fairy Tale  Challenge which is flowers
Stamp Man which is distressing
Crafty Ann's which is Ring in the new but don't ring out the old

I do hope you'll come over to CD Sunday and join in with us, we'd love to see you!
