Add a Number with CD Sunday

Good morning it's a lovely sunny morning here so lets hope it stays that way, this week over on CD Sunday we have a challenge to Add A Number this was chosen by Jocelyn.

I was given a photo by someone who wanted a card for her friends 40th birthday so this card is what I came up with.
I took the photo into Craft Artist and just played about until I had something that would work, I used a steampunk kit for the map and the charatcters.  The card has already gone to it's new owner and they loved it, the words and numbers were cut from a provocraft set but I can't remember the name.

We still have our lovely guest Linby with us so I do hope you can come over and see what she and the rest of the team have done and hopefully join in too.

CD Sunday - Quick and Cute

Good morning bloggers, another week gone by so it's time for CD Sunday again. This week it's Sue B's turn to choose the topic and she has been very kind to us with quick and cute.
For my card I've used an old cd from Ella's Designs called Plush Pals which I've for quite a while but only use occasionally.
I had to do a card for a little boys christening and ths is what I did.
The team have enjoyed this one and all the cards are quite different so I hope you can come on over and join us.

CD Sunday - Transportation

Morning! Another Sunday and another challenge over at CD Sunday, this week we have a new guest, this week it's Linby who is also sponsoring us as she has offered us a Debbi Moore cd - Shabby Chic Mechanical

For my card this week I chose to use the Tom Meilko cd from Joanna Sheen, I've used this several times as I really like the images so it was a good buy for me.

Sorry it's not a wonderful picture but I do find easel cards a bit difficult to photgraph at times, this one is a 7x10 card and I ended up putting at 50 on the stopper as it was my friends 50th birthday last month.

The image is quite a large one and I guess it would work well on an 8" square card but as I'd bought some 7x10 cards to try I used one of those so I could add the extra bits. I do think the backing paper is really pretty and very useful as it's not anything specific to the image on, just some pretty little flowers.

I hope you can join us and support Linby in her first spot as our guest, looking forward to seeing you over there. x

Black and White with IndigoBlu

Last week I won a stamp of my choice from IndigoBlu so chose Live, Laugh, Love as my prize. I wanted to join in with a Black and White Challenge so decided to use them, as always with IndigoBlu stamps they give a perfect impression every time.
I haven't been doing much stamping recently but this has awakened the need to do some more so watch this space as I start to play again.  Mind you I should be emptying my craft room to do a bit of decorating but I get so easily sidetracked.

CD Sunday - Garden Pleasures

This week over at CD Sunday Christine has chosen the theme Garden Pleasures to tax us, I recently bought the Tom Meilko project book from Joanna Sheen and decided to go with one of those images. This card is a 7"x10" and is made in landscape to accommodate the design. The project is a decoupage one so it makes it so much easier then trying to decide which bits to cut out, I'm not sure it shows too well in the picture.
The team have made some lovely things this week so I do hope you can pop over and have a look and hopefully join us, we love to see you.

CD Sunday - Dreams and Dragons

Good morning it's Sunday and that means another great challenge over at CD Sunday, this week it's Dreams and Dragons as chosen by Sue. When you see the cards the design team have done you will notice that the cd I've used features quite a bit.
I've used Joanna Sheen's Enchanted Dreams and the images are perfect for this challenge, my card is 7x10 and comes from the decoupage section of the cd.
The flowers are Heartfelt Creations Delicate Asters - my new favourite flowers, so much so that I have now bought the stamps to go with the dies.

i hope you'll come and have a look at the teams work and join in with us, we love to see what you've created.

CD Sunday - Christmas in July

Hello everyone and welcome to my place in blogland, this week over at CD Sunday we are trying to get ahead so have chosen Christmas in July as our topic this week. To be honest looking out of the window and seeing such fabulous weather doesn't exactly inspire the cold feeling of a snowy scene but we have to start early so what better time than now.

For my card I have used the Best of La Pashe 2012 and this is from the Pickles and Podge section, it's a fairly simple card but most of my Christmas cards are simple only do elaborate ones for family.
This was printed onto 160gsm paper and the red card is from a pad bought from C&C quite a while ago but they are still selling them but I only paid £4.99 each for mine, the sentiment is from a Polkadoodles cd cut out with one of the smaller bits from a spellbinders set, they don't get used that often as they don't seem to fit with anything most of the time.

I do hope you'll join in with us, we love to come and visit.

The rest of today's cardmaking

I have loved being outside crafting in this beautiful weather, I had to sit under the umbrella as the sun was so strong that I would have fried if I'd sat out in it. Anyway these cards still need some embellishments but I thought you may like to see the cards just using the printed page. If you needed some quick cards these would do the job but wouldn't look like they are so easy to do.

These cards are either A5 or 6inch square, the square ones are designed to be a lot bigger but I opted to print two pages on an A4 sheet thus reducing the size down so I could make the smaller square instead of the 8 inch, hope you like them.

Craft U Print Designs

I needed a new baby card so went over for a look on Crafts U Print, well I found the design I wanted but a few others also fell into the basket, you know the way that happens.

I printed some off yesterday and had a little play while I was sitting soaking up the sun in the garden, I had seen some of the fifties style ladies on a forum so bought a few of those and here they are, they are printed onto matte photo paper and they look like real fabric. I'm quite pleased as I kow where these will be going very soon.

The baby cards are so easy to make up and I think they are quite pretty.

I'll be back tomorrow with another couple I'm in the process of making.

Jem's Designs at CD Sunday with hats

Over on CD Sunday this week we have a great sponsor, Jem's Designs have agreed to give a cd of the winners choice away so what better reason could there be to join in, the team were give the cd Hat Box Confections to play with and to be honest I wasn't going to use this design for my card but as I'd just bought the lush corner dies I cut them out in the lilac card and the whole thing just went from there.
This is an 8 inch card and I sent it to a friend who was 60 this time so in the end I put a 60 in the top right corner but I had already taken my picture so you'll just have to imagine it.
So what did I use this time;
Design from Jem's cd Hat Box Confections
Lilac card is Centura Pearl
The dies behind the topper are Decorative Blossom corner from Heartfelt Creations. You have to have a lot of patience with these dies as they don't cut very easily.
The flowers are also Heartfelt Creations and are called Delicate Asters.
Finally finished the whole thing off with some flat back pearls which came free with my carousel from C&C.
Hope you can come over and join us and check out my team mates blogs, they have done some stunning things.

Dance with CD Sunday

It's Sunday so it means another challenge over on CD Sunday, this week Carol has chosen Dance and the team have all had some good ideas but quite different so I do hope you will go over and have a look and maybe join in.
My card this week is made from an older cd, Seraphina through the Ages which I don't even know if you can still get. I thought this image would be perfect for a little girls birthday.

S is for ...........CD Sunday

Over on CD Sunday this week Beryl has chosen S is for........ so I have chosen Style or Stripes and have used the Fabulous Fashion cd from Katy sue designs. This is a great cd and fun to use, I've used it quite a bit and hope that the cards made will sell well on a fundraising day we are having in work.. The pearl butterflies are from a pack that had both butterflies and dragonflies in and I bought them from Stamps by Chloe.

I hope you can join us and please go over to the challenge blog to see what the rest of the team have done, there are some that are not so obvious as mine.

Tom Meilko from Joanna Sheen

I recently bought the Tom Meilko project book from Joanna Sheen, I very rarely follow any of the projects but thought this was a pretty idea so decided to make one.  In the book the card used is aqua but I decided to use white centura pearl as the base.  This is a lovely set of images and no doubt will have plenty of use, I do like a really useful cd.

Kimono at CD Sunday

Good morning everyone, it's Sunday again so it's another challenge from us at CD Sunday and this week it's Kimono, as chosen by Caz. I decided to go with Tulip from the Do Crafts range and had every intention of doing some decoupage, I printed the topper out at the wrong setting so it was a bit small so I used it just as a topper. The backing paper is from the same cd and I've run it through an embossing folder, this is a folder I got free with a magazine and it looks totally differentwhen used with patterned paper. It does have peacocks on but you can't see them as the topper covers them. The frame which I embossed on white centura pearl is an 8 inch folder I bought from Crafters Companion so you can tell the card is slightly over 8 inches.

I hope you can come over and join us this week and I think Caz has chosen something a little bit different this week so we are hoping to see some stunning work.

Money Wallet using spellbinders

One of the ladies I work with is getting married next Saturday, she has her own home and doesn't really need things so our department have decided that we will all contribute and give her the cash.  I have made this money wallet so it looks as if a bit of thought has gone into it and it was so easy out of one A4 sheet of card for the wallet and onther sheet for the dies cuts on top with some left over. I am going to add a couple of bows but haven't made up my mind if they are going to be white or if I should include a tiny bit of the wedding colours in with it, will have to see what looks best.  I recently bought the We R Memory Keepers envelope board so have made an envelope to go with it.

CD Sunday challenge - Fine Plumage

What a beautiful morning it is and I'm here with another card for the challenge over at CD Sunday, this week Jocelyn has chosen Fine Plumage. I recently bought a new cd from My Craft Studio which is called Quintessential Country Garden. I love all the colours and the way they have blended them so chose to use this topper, I'm glad it fell in place with the challenge. The bacground paper is from one of the packs of paper that came with the cd and I've used one of my favourite diesin the corners, just finished the whole thing off with some card candy which I found when tidying as I had forgotten I had white.

Wynn is still with us and her card is another lovely one so please drop by and have a look, as usual you don't need a blog as we do accept entries by email, you just may need to give us a bit of a promt by putting a comment on so we know to go and look.

I am also entering this card into the
Allsorts Challenge which this week is In The Garden.
Crafty Calendar challenge which is Things with Wings

My Craft Studio but no printing done.

When I bought my last My Craft Studio cd two packs of paper came along with it, now usually I look at the papers think how beautiful they are then put them away because it's a shame to cut into them.  Yes I know it's daft but I have more paper in my room than some craft shops have, I guess it's an addiction.
Anyway this time I have decided to use the bits and pieces and as some die cut sheets came too I decided to make a card using them. The die cut bits went through an embossing folder then I used Pan Pastels on the branch and the birds but the cage was embossed, as the background paper has a little embossing on in a champagne sparkle I decided not use gold because it would look too heavy so I did the bird cage in silver. The die cut corner is a Memory box one and believe it or not it is the same card as the sentiment but now looks totally different, the paper curls are done with the off cuts of the backing paper and the flowers were on another printed sheet in the pack, the sparkly centres are from a pack of gems bought from Hobby House.

I'm back with the team at CD Sunday

Good morning all, this week sees me back in harness on the team at CD Sunday, I did  really need the time to myself but still missed the blog challenges. I made myself stay away so I could really benefit from the rest and have to say it was a good idea. Anyway I'm happy to be back and with a good week to choose, it's sponsor week and this week we are sponsored by Ooh La La so the winner gets to choose what they want from the range of cd's on offer.

The ladies at Ooh La La chose the theme of Faithful Friends and gave us some files from the cd of that name to work with, I chose the Rottweiler as I thought it would make a good mans card. The design is fairly simple and everything except the little sentiment comes from the cd. I printed out two backing papers and put the spotty one in an embossing folder, the one I used was an M-Bossabilities one and I don't kow the name of it but the code is EL-025 for anyone interested. I cut a strip and made a rosette with it, I really wanted to put a number 1 on it but thought it may look a bit odd so went for something more generic.

I hope you can come and join us, after all a cd is worth winning and as the prize is a random draw you don't need to worry about your skill level. I forgot to say that we have a new guest this month and that is Wynn from Sunshine Cards and Crafts, she is very lucky to live in the sunshine as she lives over in Cyprus. You may not be able to visit her personally but please go and visit her blog she is a very talented lady.

Right I'm off to make a wedding card as I have an order for one and I need to make one for the same person as I'm going to the wedding too, do you find it a bit difficult to make more than one card for the same event and make them very different.

More Fabulous Fashion

I have been playing today, as the Fabulous Fashion cd was still in the draw that is what I played with. I wanted to put the dress, bag and hat on one sheet but it isn't on the disc so I took the png files into craft artist and put them together and added the words.
I think the image on the top card is a little high but at least it gives me an idea of how the three images work together, it isn't quite as high as it looks in the picture I was taking this at an angle.

I think I'd like to do a row of dresses or hats but I'll settle for these at the moment, I've got another two printed out and ready to put together which will make 9 cards since yesterday just from this cd set.

Fabulous Fashion

I bought the Fabulous Fashion double cd from C&C and it arrived yesterday. I had to have a play, the way you do once you get something new through the door and these are some of the cards I've made. The first two are the shop window designs that you just print out and cut the windows out and the designs are decoupaged although my rubbish photography doesn't show this too well. The last one is made using one of the pack of fancy cards bought from C&C when on offer, I fixed it to a a sheet of A4 and fed it through the printer so the spotty bit is printed directly onto the card, partly because I find there is just too much white if left blank. I have made a couple of others and will show them tomorrow, these are going into the charity box for our fundraising day in work in the hope it will boost funds.

Aged to Perfection on CD Sunday

Over on CD Sunday this week the theme is Aged to Perfection, well I know a few people with significant birthdays this year so this card will be sent to one of them.  I will probably do another card to go with it but thought this was a bit of fun.

The whole card is made from the best of La Pashe, I printed the background paper and chose blue but it wasn't quite the blue I wanted so I used my pan pastels to change it, the oval frame is from a tattered lace die as are the words your special day which look white in the picture but they are light blue.

I enjoyed my week back with the team last week and will be choosing my top three in a day or so once I have made up my mind.

Another card from the freebie kit

Well you don't hear from me for ages and now I'm back with my second post of the day. I have made another card from the free kit, up to now I've made four and there is plenty left to make at least another five so not bad for something that came free with a mag, I'm not usually impressed with some of the things you get free but this kit is great quality and I know plenty of people who llike the things made with Hunkydory stash.

This card is a 7x10 for a change and the card base came from here they are Centura Pearl Ice White Taffeta although in reality they are an off white but lovely.

The bow is made from some organza ribbon that I coloured with my Flexmarkers and the dazzler I bought while I was at the Port Sunlight show but are from Hobby House. The word celebrate is from a Tattered Lace die and the flourish is a Marianne die whilst the flowers are from the Bitty Blossoms by Spellbinders.

I think that's everything, hope you like it and I'll be back with an update to let you know how many cards I make with the kit.

CD Sunday - Go Green

Well good morning all, I have been taking a bit of time to myself so have not been joining in with CD Sunday for a while, as the team choose the theme's quite a way in advance it seems that I am involved this week as I chose the theme of Go Green.  To be honest I had almost forgotten but decided to use one of the cds I bought for the grand price of ---wait for it .99p.  These cd's are not normally my kind of thing but for that kind of price who could resist.
The cd I have used is Tizzy Tumbles Pastimes, as usual you can use any cd you fancy and you can interpret the theme in any way you choose. I have used the colour but you could use a recycle theme.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you all come up with and being involved again with the team, I'll be coming to see you all throughout the week.

Magazine Freebie

Hello all. I've been neglecting my blog again but yesterday the postman called with a magazine I've just subscribed to for a bit of a change and look what came with it, a taster kit from Hunkydory.

As it was David's turn to make the dinner I sat down and made a couple of cards while I waited.  I have found people like the cards made from these kits and as I needed to take a card in to work with me today timing was perfect.

Thew top card is just an A4 folded to make it into an 8 inch square and all I used was a topper which came with the die cut decoupage and one sheet of backing paper, the pearl dragonfly I bought at the weekend from Port Sunlight, they are from Chloe's Crafts and £2 per pack.

The second card is just a topper from a sheet that had four toppers on and the pink strip is just a piece I cut from the left over bit, the pearl butterfly is from the same pack as the dragonfly but coloured with flex markers.  The card is from a multi pack bought from Create and Craft, pretty cards which take about 5 mins to make.

Using up my Hunkydory stash

I've got lots of toppers and things in my stash so today have decided that I must use them up before I buy anything else, mind you that's a laugh as it would take me the rest of my lifetime to use everything!

I bought these cards to see what they are like and I like the style as they are a type of easel, I used a piece of an insert and coloured the top bit of the card with Pan Pastels, I have also added gems to the fancy bit on the top and attached the topper and a couple of flowers. Quite easy to do but hopefully the person who gets it won't think so, I added a rose to the back to act as a stopper so the card stands up without falling.

Jolly Happy day

Hello everyone and a happy Saturday to you, I've been having a bit of a play with one of my latest cd's - Shabby Chic Songbird which has been designed by Leonie from Create and Craft fame in conjunction with Debbi Moore.

I really love the sketchyness of the designs on this cd and thought these trees were so pretty, I've printed them onto 160gsm smooth paper and haveused frayed burlap distress ink around the edges, a really easy card to do but I'm quite pleased with it and no die cuts in sight!

Another offering for today

I've had this die for a while and don't think I've shown anything I've done with it so this is what I've done today. The background is the Couture Creations embossing folder tied together, this had to go through the GC twice as the piece of card I was using was bigger than the folder. The pink card is from Hunkydory and is foil embossed with roses, I have used elegant labels 4 to cut the layers with another Hunkydory topper from a kit I got last year, it was a huge kit and I know I'll be using it for quite a long time to come.

Hope you like it.

Hunkydory fund raisers

We are having a fund raising day in work andI have said I will make some cards in the hope that we can sell them and raise a bit extra cash.  I recently bought the Hunkydory magazine and there were two paper kits free with it, the quality is great and because they put everything together that matches it makes it so quick to put the cards together - perfect for when you want to do a lot and make plenty of money. These are a few of the ones I've done this week.

Frou Frou

Good afternoon, long time no post!  I've been neglecting my blog recently but as I'm off work sick, well I've got a pretty bad infection on my knee and can't walk very well and have been told to keep my feet up.
I have not been in the mood for much and even my new cd's haven't really inspired me to get going properly, but I have made this for a friend of mine who is 50 this year.  Normally something like this would be an hour or two but this has been a day or two but I quite like it and I'm sure she will do too so at least it's not time wasted.

I will be off work for the rest of this week and then next week I'm on holiday so hopefully my mojo will kick itself back into action and I'll have some more bits and pieces to share with you.

As you kow I'm taking a break from CD Sunday but have just noticed that this actually fits the theme this week which is Through the Window so I will enter this card, it's from the new Crafters Companion cd Frou Frou, hope you all like it.

CD Sunday challenge - Sugar and Spice

Good morning all and a very Happy Easter to you, we've had a couple of sunny days up to now this weekend so I'm hoping for today and Monday to be the same so I can get out into the garden.

This week over on CD Sunday it's a new challenge chosen by Jocelyn which is Sugar and Spice, I have chosen to use a Paintbox Poppets image from the winter collection, the saying is sugar and spice and all things nice, well she is a cute little girl but I thought it looked like she had a spiced orange in her basket and the other things are probably sweets so there is the sugar.

This is my last week with the team on CD Sunday for a while, I have been part of the team for three years and for the majority of that time it is me who has posted the challenge each week so I have decided the time has come to let someone else take over.  I could have stayed on as part of the team but thought a break would be better, the team have been great and Carol has stepped up and offered to take over the posting so no worries there and I will have a break but as yet I'm not sure how long it will be for, I guess until I feel rested and relaxed enough to want to do it all again.  I know I'm going to miss it but it will give you all someone different to read each week.

This week is the last week for Marina who has done a sterling job this month so hopefully she will be back, there has been a DT call and the team will be making a choice from a list of super people and Carol will be announcing the new member next week.

I hope you will all enjoy this weeks challenge and I'll be coming over to say hello during the week so see you then.

CD Sunday - Bundle of Joy

Good morning and welcome from a snowy Wigan, we woke yesterday to quite a lot of snow but they promised more overnight that thankfully didn't arrive.
Th challenge at CD Sunday this week was chosen by Sue and it's Bundle of Joy, so I've been quite predictable and made a baby card but I could have made a card with a puppy or kitten on as that would have worked too.

This card is made from the Joanna Sheen cd Messy Rabbit, it's not a cd I use often but I thought this image would be perfect. I'm not sure where the stamp came from but I've had it ages and never used it but it did stamp well so it may be getting another outing before long.

Hope you can join us and we still have a call out for a new member of the team so if you fancy that then let us know.

CD Sunday - Wonderful Wings

Good morning all, it's Sunday again and that means we have a new challenge over at
CD Sunday. This week it is my turn to choose the challenge so I chose wonderful wings, I had already chosen the topic when Caroline offered to sponsor us and chose butterflies as her theme. As several of the team members had already done their cards I couldn't change it but did change the card I was going to do.

This card is done using an A5 landscape as the base, can you all remind me in the future not to make these types of card to put on the blog as they are not easy to photograph! I used the image of a fairy from the cd Enchanted Dreams by Joanna Sheen, I have added glitter to highlight the picture and added a pink bow and a huge gem. The base has a piece of the backing paper and the sentiment I stamped onto a die cut shape that was done with one of the new Spellbinder dies

I hope you can come and join us as we love to see you, pop over to the blog and see what the rest of the team have done.

CD Sunday - Land of the Pharaohs

Hi there, can you believe it's another Sunday and it's also mothering Sunday so Happy Mothers Day to all you mums out there.
This week on CD Sunday Carol has chosen the theme Land of the Pharaohs, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do but at  least I do have Joanna Sheen's Egyptian Adventure CD so not too much work in finding something which would work.

I have once again used my current favourite corner, this die is so versatile and can be used in anyone's card as it isn't too feminine or masculine and seems to fit with so many things.

I hope you can join in with us and support Carol this week, there is as usual a small prize for the winner of the top three so it is worth it. Looking forward to seeing you.
